Peak-to-Peak/Estes Park Ride – CANCELED

Greetings Brothers;

Winter is on its way. We seem to be having a bit of it now. It’s raining in Golden, Boulder and northwards. The temperatures are below 50 and in the mountains at least 10 degrees colder. My point here is that tomorrows ride is cancelled due to bad weather. We’ll try again next weekend at the MC-1 Honor ride.

Ride to Georgetown – Fri, July 14th

This coming Friday we had scheduled a visit to Georgetown 12. Unfortunately, the lodge has had some construction issues that are not complete yet and the lodge will not be fit for human habitation by Friday, so they have cancelled that meeting. They will still be holding fellowship at a local eatery, Coopers on the Creek in Georgetown. I will still be at Avalanche and we will depart around 5 pm for those still interested in going, but there will be NO lodge meeting. Let me know if you’re still planning on going.

Widows Sons of Colorado State Gathering – CANCELED

Members and Friends of the Widows Sons;

I regret to inform you that we are cancelling the State Gathering. Unfortunately we were late in scheduling our date and most of our members have previous commitments for that weekend. We will reschedule this at a later date.

Gun Law seminiars

At the last meeting, Mike Rosenthol spoke about his attendance to the gun law seminar that was emailed to everyone last week and spoke very highly of it. With the location being in Castle Rock and a snow storm impeding travel, it was noted that some members who wanted to attend, may not have had the opportunity to do so.

So for all who didn’t get a chance to attend, and would still like to, there are 2 gun law seminars coming up in Denver. The presentation is given by a company called U.S. LawShield. They are very informative and discuss topics such as:

  • Our state’s “Make my day” law
  • Castle doctrine and stand your ground law
  • When you can legally shoot
  • The legal use of force
  • Civil liability after you shoot (you can still be sued even if you are cleared in criminal court)
  • Traveling with firearms
  • Dealing with law enforcement or a difficult police officer

For example, do you know the difference between burglary, robbery and theft? Or if it is ok to use lethal force in each?

The floor is open to a Q&A after each presentation where you can ask questions or pose “what if” scenarios.

The cost is $10 per person to attend and you will receive a workbook written for the state of Colorado regarding the various laws. There is no hard sell to join or buy anything else. More information can be found at www.gunlawseminar.com or using the links below for registration.

The upcoming seminars are:
